Recap: Secret Language play the Folkins backyard!

As I mentioned in my last post, this past weekend we played a backyard show for some friends of ours in Columbia. When all was said and done we'd played two sets over the course of two and a half hours, debuted ten new tunes, ate plenty of delicious food, and had a generally awesome time. We also had the distinct pleasure of having one of Sven's drum students, Monica Folkins, come sit in with us on a couple of tunes during the first set. We'd all like to give a big thanks to her for coming up to jam with us, and would also like to thank both her and her husband Bruce for letting us play at their home, it was truly a great time. Additionally, to all those who were able to come out and enjoy the music, thanks to you all for coming to cheer us on!

Since we don't want the people who were unable to attend to feel left out, we are once again providing a free download of the entire show over on our page on Live Music Archive page. The first set is taken from a soundboard recording Brian made (which is fantastic quality), while the second set is taken from a slightly noisier audience recording Jamie made. Overall they're two of the best quality recordings we've done, so if you're interested make sure to head on over to our Archive page (or the Music page on this site) and download a copy for yourself.

And as if that wasn't enough, our great friends over at Bittner Photography went ahead and shot a ton of video (almost the entire second set) during the show. Not only that but they've also posted a few video clips from our show back in July at Joe Squared. In addition to the clip above you check out an additional 10 video clips on the Secret Language page of their site, and while you're there be sure to check out all the other amazing stuff they do. They've shown us a lot of love so be sure to return the favor for us by checking out their site.

Thanks again to all the great people that have shown us such a tremendous amount of support over the past several months. If you haven't already please be sure to head over to our Facebook page and give it a like so we can finally start to feel good about ourselves (you know you want to), and remember to head out to Joe Squared on November 12th. We'll see you there!
